Help JB Update - How?

Forgive my ignorance guys, bit of a novice.... The Jelly Bean update is coming soon (apparently 29/08), I have a GS3 and would like to know how I will get the update when it's released. Thanks, Blenc.

Install Samsung Kies program on your computer from here:http://www.samsung.com/ph/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/JSP

Plug in your phone to your computer, wait for Kies to detect it, then it will tell you if there is an update available.

No, not necessarily. Depends on your country, and the OP didn't mention where he is. For example in my country, Samsung doesn't support OTA, everything goes through Kies.

Only if your carrier releases it via kies. You can only install sprint releases this way

IIRC, you're on a rooted handset and the OTA would fail. Kies might install it, but you'll have to re-root it. The rooted method will likely be released the same day, or the next day. So keep an eye out for that. You may even get the rooted version before your handset is selected in the roll-out, anyways.
