Joe the Plumber

He may be right. He's lived his whole life in a universe that leans way over to the left.

I guess since the conservative party or whatnot didn't give him his life time job...he decided to take one of those job's Obama saved.

As the old saying goes, something beats nothing!

just shows the things a conservative will actually do just to have a job.... as opposed to a career in welfare

I just read that Fisker was sold lock, stock and barrel for $129 mil.

They couldn't even sell the turd for the 200 mil of OUR money Nobama pissed away on it.

Sounds like a reasonable deal: a company that's still alive, (presumably) making money and paying taxes, all of it's employees paying taxes instead of claiming benefits, same thing for all of it's suppliers.

And they're all going to continue doing that for years to come ..

Kind of a bargain for $70 million ..

Sure it is.

If your dream world Somehow became reality.

Your dream world (from your Wrong $70 mil above) assumes that $129 mil sales price went back to us taxpayers, which of course is a ridiculous idea. That went to Fisker's other creditors.

The tab out of OUR pockets (from the original loan) was $139 mil.

Let's take a little gander at what is probably the Only even semi-viable competitor to Fisker. (Actually even IT only looks "semi-viable" in that same dreamworld.) Tesla. At least they are actually selling/delivering some vehicles right?

 Yeah. Sure they are.

Tesla has been filling taxes for 5 years now. They have YET to make A Single Dollar of Profit. Not one dollar. Not only that, in those 5 years, they've managed to LOSE almost A Billion Dollars making the cars they Have sold. (930 mil) Now, don't EVEN ask me How but Somehow, last year, when they LOST 71 Mil BEFORE taxes they actually Paid 2.6 Mil in Income Taxes.

So if you somehow dream that the new Fisker manages to meet or beat Tesla, which reality says they won't, at the same rate their Income tax would take a measly 53 years to pay back what we lost on Fisker's loan.

$139 Million. Totally pissed away.

THAT'S not a bargain for Anyone.

And...to make things even More Clear without the CNN Obama felating dream world glasses on...

That $15 mil dream world profit from the 1st quarter of '13 was the GOOD news. ALL. of. the. good. news.

When you look at that shining 74 mil LOSS *at the end of the year* REMEMBER that to get THERE, they had to Blow Through that dream world imaginary 1st quarter "profit" of 15 mil To Get To that loss.

That means they ACTUALLY LOST 89 Mil in the Remaining 8 months of last year.

So.

The One Possible company who still wears those same dream world glasses Fisker did, LOST just Last Year, 2/3 of the amount of tax payer money Fisker took us for.

You can put all the lipstick you want on a pig.

It's still a pig.

A simple "Here is my source" would suffice. I'd be more inclined to agree if you weren't so overly emotional and insulting about everything.

The only thing I insulted in that post was CNN.

I despise them at least as much as You despise Fox.

And Pahleese. The Viscous card is the one the liberal side plays the hardest and most often. Of course, we all know "the rules" too. It's Only viscous when it's being done To You not when you (the liberal side) are doing it to others.

I'm not a "liberal" or a "conservative". For most news, I eschew Fox and CNN alike- I find CNN has a very clear slant to their coverage, just as Fox does. CNN was simply the most reliable source I COULD find off-hand when searching for Tesla Motors profitability.

Unfortunately, though, there isn't any unbiased news. The most unbiased is as you posted- Tesla's first-hand profitability report. Doesn't get any more objective than that. Had I the capital, I'd start up a news service that posted the entire truth as it was, not as I liked it to be. Of course, there is that old quote from Babylon 5.

“Understanding is a three edged sword: your side, their side, and the truth.”
― J. Michael Straczynski

As I said, thank you for posting- I didn't know they actually posted that in a place that was easy to find, and most unfortunate, because I do so adore that Model S.

Personally, I don't believe its the government's place to offer loans at all, but neither is it the government's place to pander to the military-industrial complex (which both sides do). I'd rather have seen Tesla spring up without assistance.
