Jorte -- setting task reminder alarms

a-dogg

Newbie
I use Jorte as my daily calendar...and love it. Though I can't figure out if it allows alarms to be set for tasks reminders. If not, can anyone recommend a good task list program that syncs with google tasks and has alarms? Astrid does, but there's like 10 steps to go through to set an alarm for a task.

Thanks!

Jorte is an excellent app!

It does allow you to create alarms for "events". Are you opposed to creating an event rather than a task?

@pulgoki

I have enabled ringtone under settings in Jorte, but still does not get any audible alarm when events reach.

If you can write a step-by-step guide it is helpful to figure out whether I am doing something wrong.

1. Open Jorte
2. Press the menu button (the physical button in the lower left corner of your phone).
3. On the menu that you've just opened, tap Options.
4. On the options menu tap Settings.
5. On the settings menu scroll to Alert Type and tap that.
6. Set Alert type to "Alert"
7. Click the physical "go back" button at the bottom of your phone.
8. On the settings menu you can also select your ringtone and default reminder time.

I have the free Jorte running on my Samsung Fascinate with Android 2.1 (non-Froyo). I've got the 4x4 widget covering a full screen, and I like it. But it's difficult opening up one event on the calendar. I tp the widget to open the app, then tap the day - but I have to cycle through calendar views until I see the days across the top and the hours down the side to be able to open one event.

Is there a setting I've missed? Or a long-press I've not discovered?

And is there a user community group or forum for questions and answers?

I do this and it doesn't change. I've tried selecting a ring tone and it just back to default. Any ideas? Thanks

This is fine and good IFF a single barely audible ring tone is good enough. For me I've never managed to actually hear an alert from a calendar event. Can a louder ring tone be added to the list?

Most importantly can an alert/alarm be setup to continuously make a racket (noise) until I acknowledge it? How else do you not miss appointments?

The screen doesn't show that appointments/reminders fired either.

Are my issues in android and external to a calender app? So finding different calender apps will not solve my basic need better alarm/alerting?

tnx curt

MyTouch 4g. I've gone through settings - Alert / Ringtone. But nothing happens - no alert. Any ideas?

OK, I turned on the notifications for the standard Droid calendar & now I get 2 notifications.

Suggestions?

Thanks
