Juice defender clarification needed

So just a quick question, i know Juice Defender turns off the data when the screen is off. Does that mean I wont get calls/texts with the screen off? Will calls still connect, but not texts?

You will get calls and texts even when the screen is off. Juice defender controls only the data.

I don't think that juice defender wil save battery.
