Juice Defender Installation Anomaly?

I ordered Juice Defender Ultimate from my Samsung Galaxy S2 and was able to down load it and start installation (no objections from AT&T). During installation/startup I got to a screen which told me to get JuiceDefender-free. I couldn't find anyway around that screen (I mean why get the free when I've just bought the 5 dollar item). So I downloaded it and the installation proceeded. Now in Apps I see two Juice Defender Ultimate widgets. I hesitate to delete one or the other.

Is all this normal behavior? BTW, I'm a new Android user and this was the first app that I've downloaded.

For whatever reason, none of the paid versions of this app will work without the free version already installed and running... I went through the same confusion when I paid.
