The simple answer to that question is no. It looks exactly like the 4S. The only difference besides software that i can tell is the bigger screen. I was actually looking forward to the release of this but now I am a bit disappointed. Was I actually going to get the new iPhone if I liked it? Probably not still. The price tag is the most obvious fault. I can't imagine spending that much on a phone. I think I will keep my Razr MAXX that can last me 2 days easily without a charge. I still believe it is the best phone out!

What are you guys' thoughts?

I didn't get to see the launch event, but as I read the specs, I had to really dig to find out if the phone was LTE capable. The specs say it is, but I can't even be sure if it is. Every new phone that has come out, in the last year, has touted LTE capability, but Apple appears to very quiet. Are they getting ready for all of the incoming law suits?

I've always liked their hardware... but I hate their OS.

... no reason to switch (nor desire)....

No.

But go on iphone forums and ask if there going to switch to the droid razr m tomorrow at its opening day.

See what they say.

Hahahahahahahahaha i think they would say no cuz n 3 years when we that technology we will compete with ur old tried phones.....i will keep with my maxx with all my stuff my maxx can do it would cause the isheep's head to expload from all it awesomeness

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Well, thats a CRApple for you. The hardware is on par with other devices and there is really nothing particularly unique about it. Maybe...if they had implemented the laser keyboard from the iPhone5 concept then they would have had the jump on Android.

Never. The iPhone I know has some great aspects to it. But the real reason I stay with Android is because of the open OS and the ability to contantly change themes, etc which you just cant do on the iPhone. Everybody's looks exactly the same. Boring.

If they would have done ANYTHING ground breaking or new, I would maybe consider a thought of this. But they are just releasing 2 year old versions of Android that are LTE capable with a tiny screen. I don't understand them. When crApple first launched, they were the sh... now a days, they are re releasing their old stuff which is now sh...you get what I'm saying. Anyone that wastes their money or upgrade on this phone is an iSheep or a moron(which is also tied to iSheep) Not all morons are iSheep. But all iSheep are morons! Haha and that is science.

I am going to jump ship from my MAXX and Moto...For the Note 2 or GSIII...In time >:}

really? In all fairness ...

New A6 processor
Refreshed Camera
New (supposed battery friendly LTE)
No glass on the back so that is one less side to shatter when you drop it.

To be fair IMO i think it is a decent jump from the 4S especially considering LTE.

In my opinion, the jump from the 4S to the 5 is bigger than from the MAXX to the MAXX HD. I still want a Samsung Note 2 or GSIII though.

It's not really a letdown id say, apple always delivers in terms of smoothness/performance.

ios6 has 200 more features then ios5 so since ios5 had 200 more features then ios 4 does that mean they have added 400 features in 2 years??? Hardly they count every small thing they possibly could as a change each version only has a couple significant changes. And that taller screen is ridiculous It doesn't do anything besides give developers problems they have to fix in all there apps.

As for the A6 no one knows if its quad core but I highly doubt it.

The one plus I will give to a stock non-jail broken iphone (i just jumped the jail broken apple ship to android) is its camera. I dont think any device can beat its camera right now. Im running a Razr at the moment and its no where near as great. Hopefully the HTC one x+ or the Maxx hd will have a way better camera. It will be my decding factor in my next android phone.

and to the iPhone's credit when you jailbreak it I consider it opening a world of android like openness. Themes/ and hundreds of customization's.

I'll probably get the HD Maxx, but part of me really wants the iP5. The Android glitches, hiccups and random "that was weird" moments get old.

A jailbroken iP5 could be quite nice.

The htx one x camera is amazing as is.
You realize that every time that camera makes the shutter sound, it's not actually a result of a photo capture, right? Count the shuttering a burst, then count the captures... They will be different. Also, in real world, the 4s photos come out better. But in perfect scenario shots, the HTC looks great.

Yes, I realize the shutter sound and number of photos do not line up. I have the shutter sound turned off anyway. Is that make or break for the phone that the sound doesn't match up? Since this is android....If you wanted to you could simply change the sound file yourself to make it align . Good luck with that on iOS:)

I'll disagree on the I phones camera being better, but something so subjective isn't worth derailing a thread.

In the end, the ip5 was a complete disappointment for me. They offered nothing new over the top tier android phones and simply played catch up. I was hoping they'd have something groundbreaking in order to push Android. Instead, they blatantly copied features. Classic apple.

The fanboys will still eat it up, evidenced by how it sold out in less than an hour. Just goes to show you they'll buy anything apple puts out.

And you DO realize apple crashes more than android does right? The only difference is apple doesn't tell you it crashed. They just send you back to the home screen without any notification so the user wonders if it was something they did. Because, ya know, apple wouldnt ever crash...so I must have pushed the home button, right?

Ok, a couple of things.

Let's not pass judgement on the iP5 camera when it's not out yet, and none of us have even seen photos from it.

And why are we discussing the One X camera in a thread in RAZRville asking about jumping ship to the iPhone 5 anyways?

There are some nice iPhone vs Android threads in the Lounge and the Android Lounge.

If anyone has a problem with the lock, drop me a line, my door's always open. :)
