Hope this isn't a double! I just wanted to know if its possible to set my ringtone to ascending rather than a single volume? Also why do I only get a single sound choice for email, facebook and texts? I cant choose something for each? And where do I get new ringtones and Msg alert sounds (my 1st android)? Whew lots of questions! Any help is awesome!!!

Thanks!

I can't answer all your questions but I can tell you that you can pick a specific sound to hear when you get emails versus texts versus facebook (I haven't actually adjusted this one). Actually, if you have more than one email account that is coming into your phone you can pick a sound for each.

Open your primary email account, then hit Settings - choose an account - scroll down and you will see a "Choose ringtone."

Hats a start!

Same holds true for text settings as well.

As for new ringtones, or whatever, I've used Ringroid to take songs and cut them down to make actual ringtones for individuals. You can also save mp3 files on your phone and then use them for the notifications for the emails...all you have to do is make sure you remember where you save them.

As for ascending...never bothered trying that, so I can't answer that one.

What did you mean about txt settings? Ive only found notification alert where you can choose the sound you hear for texts and emails.

open up your text messaging app, at least the one that came with ICS, and hit Messaging Settings and you'll see a "Select Ringtone" option there as well, so you can set yet another sound for that so you don't have to check whether you got an email from your gmail account, your work account, or a text...everything goes off the sound you heard. i literally have 3 different sounds so i know whether or not i care what just arrived...work, obviously has to matter, but my gmail is less likely to be important and the text message is likely from one of my brothers.
