Hi, I'm fairly new to this forum. I have had my first Android phone for about 6 months. It's an HTC Hero I bought from the carrier PlatinumTel that uses the Sprint network. I love the phone and the fairly inexpensive plan P-tel offers. It has OS 2.1 that I'm planning on rooting to version 2.2 Froyo, which I understand will make it run much snappier. Does anyone know whether a P-tel phone can be rooted? And one more question, can it go from 2.1 to 2.3? There was one post someone else had on this last question of mine, but no one responded to the person. Any advice or guidance would be appreciated. Thanks, Ken
