Just an FYI

If you use Pocket Quicken or Quicken for Android, or Pocket Money, Gnucash works really well with the QIF files. It imported my QIF Pocket Money files with no problems. 2 other banking apps said the date format was wrong, or I needed to convert to xml or find an older version.

Hmm, interesting. One of my first non-techy linux converts ended up having to dual-boot ubuntu with XP because she was the chief finance lady for her church and therefore was required to use Quicken and/or Quickbooks to work with her chuch's existing financial database.

She's told me many times that she'd have gone fully over to linux if it weren't for those windows programs....would gnucash offer the functionality she'd need to fully make the switch?

Don't know what she is using, but I use Pocket Money on the phone. I've used it since Palm and it did sync totally with Pocket Quicken on Windows.

I installed GNUcash and it picked up the accounts just as listed on the phone.
I just keep totals, I don't list the banks. Any banking is done in Ubuntu.

Here's the home page - maybe they have a FAQ or support group.
Free Accounting Software | GnuCash

I was pleased since Gnucash picked up the older QIF files. CSV is a pain.

Well, I forwarded the info to her, anyway. She did thank me for the tip, but I guess only she can determine if this'll work for her.
