Just got an m9

What's your software number? (Settings -> About Phone).

I suspect if you've bought from Vodafone, it will Voda branded and not a developer edition (I think they're only sold in the States).

Swines! Yeah Vodafone omitted to send me a nano SIM so I've installed apps and played a bit using WiFi but am still on the m7 until my new SIM arrives (shoulda been today [emoji19] ).

Seems good - not a massive change from the m7 (if it ain't broke and all that); nice touches are the things like double tap to unlock, quick launch camera volume button, customisable home buttons...like I say I haven't played much but happy to answer questions. It did get very hot whilst updating some apps earlier (never had a problem with the m7) but that's been covered already, I see [emoji6]. The silver/gold paintjob is interesting...

I bought mine today through verizon. I looked at the galaxy but w/o the SD card slot and w/o the front facing speakers I couldnt do it.
HTC will never be able to keep up with the sales of samsung though. I noticed today. I walked into bestbuy and they had S6 advertisements everywhere and nothing for the M9. I couldnt even find the m9. No in store display or anything. I left best buy because nobody would help me and i wanted to play with it before I bought it. Verizon had a display and they were not nearly as biased and I got the last gun metal gray.

I am happy with it.

Just got one through sprint. Does anyone know how to kill running apps? Is there a task manager?

WELCOME TO ANDROID FORUMS samurai !

As BigCiX stated, you can disable some pre-installed apps, ones that you do not plan on using.
Settings > Apps & select an app you want to disable. If you have the ability to disable an app,it's safe to do so,but,a few apps interact w/others & may affect peformance of said apps. This is the exception rather than the rule,so,feel free to disable those apps you do not wish to use.

As for a task manager,I'll leave that to those better versed in the mechanics of Android:

I highly recommend giving this thread a good read, feel free to ask questions & once again............
