Just held a Razr

Went to the Verizon store today for my wife to look at new phones and low and behold the Rep pulled a live Razr out of the back for us to play with.

All I can say is wow! What a beauty. After playing with the other phones, this one is the thinnest and lightest 4g phone around. It is very slim, and when you hold it in your hand the first think i noticed was how you could hardly tell it was in your hand. That sucker is light. It did however feel very solid.

One negative though is that it is pretty wide, even wider then then the NExus Prime!?!? I'm still scratching my head over that one. I would have to say, this along with the square edges were the only turn off's to my wife. But dang it, the fact that it was almost as light as her droid Eris (although the Razr feels lighter in the hand) was simply what she wants.

One thing that was suprising to me was where the phone gets thicker around the camera area. I thought this was going to be a problem, but I found a very pleasent suprise by it. The notch fit perfectly into my hand (when holding the phone sideways). It was like my index finger naturally fit into it and was a great support for holding the phone. It was quite comfortable to hold sideways (well, for the few moments I held it).

Needless to say, it was very fast. The screen is gorgeous and colors bright and crisp. But I guess that has already been compared to the Samsung Charge. Definitly no Pentile problems here!

Anyhoot, my wife has put this on her short list but is still a little weary about the width of the phone. Since height did not bother her, and the Nexus being a little bit narrower and a little bit longer, I will probably have her check that out to see if it is a little more comfortable to her.
