Root Just installed 2.3.6 and want to go back to 2.3.4

Hi Guys,
I just installed 2.3.6 on my Koodo Galaxy Ace GT-S5830. Did it vie Kies all went well. It is doing weird things to my phone calls and texts. I want to go back to 2.3.4. There is nothing I need to save just want to start fresh all over again with a firmware version I know works for me. I have nothing I wish to back-up, just want my phone working the way it used to.
Thanks

You can flash it with odin images. You will find odin 2.3.4 images from google search. Just make sure that you download the correct baseband version you want for your device. But beware that after flashing with odin you may also find some problems with your phone. Like GPS lock will sometime create problems and such. If you are new to all these flashing stuffs I suggest you better do a thorough research before jumping into any flashing or rooting stuffs. You may brick your phone. Having a genuine untouched phone will give you more benefit unless you are a geek and you want to experiment with your phone a lot like installing custom ROM and all.

sounds like OTA is unreliable as you are not the first to complain, when I installed 2.3.6 via odin tho I got no such bugs.

I find your comment interesting since my GPS currently doesnt work using a russian based rom.

However rom availabilities online seem very limited, I would be very surprised if he found a rom with the same baseband as he originally had. Odin itself is even harder to get as I had to beg on XDA to get a download link as all google links to it dont work. I do now have odin on my webspace to help others tho.

checkfusdownloader should be able to find you a carrier branded ROM. look for it with google as I dont have a direct link. Odin is also easy to comeby with a google search.

OTA or kies (the OP said updated via kies) should be no different apart from the initial wipe. Have a look at sammobile as different region firmwares tend to have slightly different bugs. (Such as Chrcol having GPS issue.) Mind you the h3g (uk 3 network) 2.3.6 had GPS lock issues which were only fixed by rooting and using an app from play store that lets you choose where the GPS data comes from. (I forget the name of app :( )

As always, backup incase something goes wrong!

Odin is not easy to come by, if its easy post a working link here :p

I searched for many hours last week for it and luckily someone on XDA gave me the file, there is many links on google but they all dead.

Which Firmware are you downloading ?
All links are working IMO .They are hosted on hotfile and/or mediafire .

How do you get 2.3.6 to work with Koodo when you install it with Odin? I installed it, but then I wasn't able to make phone call anymore... It told me that there were no service provider. In the end, I reinstalled the default ROM to get it to work.
