Just need to do a simple thing that is hard to do without a power button

Erik Doe

Lurker
Can anyone help me unlock the boot-loader without the power button. I get stuck on the screen that ask me to pick yes or no, because i cant select one because of my power button. can someone make a script that flashes the unlock code and automatically picks yes for you.

here is my unlock code. just extract it.
Try plugging-in a USB/OTG adapter & using a mouse to navigate.
That may work in absence of a script.
Keep us posted on your results.
Or,perhaps someone could do it via desktop remote,IDK,just a couple suggestions, hope you get the issue taken care of regardless.
Does your power button work otherwise?
If so,I'm stumped as to why it's not working here.......................

My power button hasn't been working for a while but I was rooted and remapped the power button to the volume up. That worked perfectly for me. Yesterday I decided to relock the boot loader and flash the stock recovery so I can run the new AT&T RUU, but I completely forgot that to unlock it again I would need to use my power button to accept it.

Have you tried using this toolkit:

IDK if it's backwards compatible, restoring to out-of-box-state,or,if it's a total hands-off tool (w/o having to use the power button)
I've seen/used similar w/other devices that restore, hopefully this is of use. Please keep us posted. :thumbsupdroid:

Sorry for not updating sooner. Been busy. I haven't tried a USB OTG as I don't want to buy anything for it right now. And I tried the tool kit witch force stuck on the confirmation screen again .
