k-9 automatically marking email as read

I love the k-9 email app except for one major annoyance. It automatically marks my Yahoo Mail Plus emails as read before I've even opened them. This causes me to miss important emails. Anyone else having this problem? Is there a setting in k-9 that I need to modify to prevent this?

If you're having trouble with K-9, please report a bug at k9mail - Project Hosting on Google Code rather than just leaving a one-star review. We don't mind you telling the world that you're frustrated, but if you use our bug tracker, we have a better chance of fixing whatever's giving you a hard time.
