k-9 email question regarding the status update

is there a way in k-9 to disconnect the "checking email" status update at the top?

i have it set to poll every 5 minutes and it is not necessary to see that it is checking.

please let me know.

I think you are referring to this: Account Settings->Notifications->Sync Notifications (uncheck this).
