K9 Email Help

I'm trying to set up K9 on my Incredible and am having one little problem (so far).

I'm trying to set it up using IMAP.

When I set up the account, I chose Push (though I don't see that option anywhere now that the account has been set up). I also have polling off.

That still seems to be checking email and notifying me upon arrival of new emails.

What I'm having trouble with, though, is it's not syncing correctly with my server. If I delete/mark read/etc an email on the server, that doesn't get automatically reflected in K9.

That's how IMAP is supposed to work.

If I delete it on K9, it does immediately delete it off my server.

Any idea what I might be missing?

Also, is using K9 w/Push going to be tougher on the battery than using the Gmail app?

What email server are you using? If you are using gmail, the only server-side setting is IMAP on or off.

What is "expunge messages" set to in K-9? "Folders to check with push"?

Changes made on the server should be reflected on the Inc.

PUSH should be the same on battery regardless of the app (and is much easier on the juice than polling)

Yes, I'm using a gmail account.

I set expunge to immediately after delete or move. And that does reflect on my server immediately when I do it on K9.

I have folders to check with PUSH to Only 1st Class Folders.

If I can get K-9 to immediately reflect changes on the server (deletes/folder moves/etc), I'm 90+% of the w ay there.

That's how K-9 is supposed to work?

So using the gmail app and K-9 via PUSH (w/polling off) should be about the same battery use?

Hmm, I upgraded to the newest version on the K9 site (the original I had from android market) and it appears to be working correctly now.

Not sure if I changed anything else or not, but this is much better.

As long as K-9 Push w/polling off is same battery as Gmail app, I'll use this. Is that pretty much the case?
