K9 email question

hey just got k9 today and was getting emails often until last hour or so. even when I refresh email i still am not getting new emails that were just sent to me?

i played around with the settings a tad bit but still have :

sync messages from - anytime

folder poll freq - never

poll folders - first class

BUT...

(push folders/first class IS greyed out though and cant press it. is that my problem there?? )

That is exactly your problem. If the account you configured doesn't have push capabilities, then you need to poll the mails at set intervals (that is, the option you have set to never).

For example, if you set your poll frequency every two hours, the phone will contact the mail server and check for new mails; in your case since push is disabled and automatic polling is too, the only way you can get mails is to manually sync your account from within the app.

ok.. I put the poll setting to 5 minutes instead of never.. still nothing and even when i refresh mail on the main screen i still dont get emails. I was getting them this afternoon then nothing now. very odd!

Do you get them when you hit "check mail" manually? I have poll set to never and just check it a couple times a day manually. If you have poll set when "background data" is checked, make sure it's checked. Check your Gmail with a PC and make sure you actually have mail Open your browser and make sure you have a data connection. Otherwise, I have no clue.

Even when I 'check mail manually' nothing still comes in?! but I was getting auto-sent emails earlier.. maybe I should uninstall and start fresh?

I have it synced up with a hotmail account. I have a gmail obviously for market sign up only. never use it.

ok I reinstalled K9 and so far it seems good again.. might act up again tomorrow. I will post if there are any problems though
