K9 Error message using softphone

Using Broadsoft UC-One softphone on Android K9 (Android Version 7.1.2) and certain dial sequences e.g. 000 (emergency number in Australia) comes up with error splash "this feature is not supported on your device". Has anyone seen this error before? Any ideas what the cause could be?

Often VOIP services can't be used for emergency calls, unless they specifically support them. Sometimes you might need to register your address with the service, so the first responders etc. know where to find you.

Do you know if Broadsoft UC-One supports emergency calls or not?
This is Cisco Broadsoft's support site, that may provide more info.

The bizarre thing I should have mentioned is that some K9s work fine whilst others display the error message (we have multiple devices being used in this way).

I've visited that linked support site before posting here... it's not really much good for trouble shooting... more a 'how to' resource.
