k9 mail questions

ok, I installed, K9, I like it so far, but I don't seem to get any popup notification, or any notification at all for new mail. I have notifications turned on for each account I have setup.
also, is there some option I am missing for an unread mail count on the home icon?

if I open the program, I see the status bar saying it is polling the accounts, and I see an unread count appear next to each account, but again, not other notifications of any kind.

anyone have any input on this? (and yes, I searched)

you'll get a notification in the notifications bar if you don't already have the app open. it'll give you the unread count there.

or at least you should. that's how it's working for me

yeah, I'm not getting anything, not even an audio notification.

I can't seem to find an option in K-9 mail to show the unread email count on the icon (like HTC mail and messages do).

Any ideas?
