Karma Auto-Shot Paths look pretty awesome

I was really disappointed the Karma doesn't have a "Follow Me" feature or "Obstacle Avoidance" like the DJI Mavic Pro as I view those as HUGE benefits. However, the Karma Auto-Shot Paths look AWESOME!

The four auto-shot paths are:
  • Droney - rapid zoom out "selfie" to show perspective
  • Cable cab - back and forth between 2 fixed points
  • Orbit - circles around a target
  • Reveal - gradually approaches and pans up
I can't even pick a favorite because they all have their distinct places and purposes.

Still, I'm hoping for two more things:
  1. The ability to "record" a path and then play it back- this could lead to some REALLY creative videography
  2. GoPro launching follow and obstacle avoidance via software/firmware update. I think they could probably engineer a software solution or "Follow Me" but without "Obstacle Avoidance" that could end in disaster and I'm not sure if obstacle avoidance requires any special hardware sensors.
Any tips, suggestions, ideas on these auto-modes?

Don't be too bumbed out about Karma not having follow me. I saw a video the other day of a lady in China showing off her Mavic. About half way through the video she demonstrates follow me. The Mavic follows her as long as she walk slowly in a straight line. But, then she walks by a tree and Mavic "Follows" her right into the tree branch and crashes. So much for obstacle avoidance. A Mavic defender states that it works about 70% of the time and that is better than not having it. I disagree. If my drone has the possibility of crashing 30% of the time, I'm not going to use it ever, so why have it? Nick Woodman stated that more updates and technology will be introduced to Karma in updates but that they don't want to put technology in Karma that isn't complete. Follow Me, he said, just isn't their yet.
