Root KatKiss KitKat 4.4.2 unofficial

I tried the KatKiss Jelly Bean ROM and didn't like it, but this KitKat ROM has breathed new live into my sluggish TF101. I guess it's the smaller footprint of KitKat. Not sure about battery live since I just installed it last night. Build #15 doesn't have Location based WiFi, but hopefully that will be fixed. The camera won't do PhotoSphere or Panorama and Gallery crashed when I tried the edit feature. But I'm not a tablet photographer (laugh every time I see one), so this is my daily until something more tempting comes along. If you dread reaching for your sluggish TF101 lately like I have, do yourself a favor and try it.

Update: v16 of the ROM fixes the WiFi location bug. I'm still having same issues with Camera and Gallery. Battery standby time is 9 to 10 days (minimal use). Still quick and responsive.

Thanks for letting us know. I've got a TF101 pretty much just gathering dust (I have two other, faster tablets). The last time I used it I was doing the 'OMG this is so slow' squirm in my chair. :) Perhaps I'll give this a look to see how it works.

Thanks for the heads up on this, running it now. Only problem I'm finding right now is I'm unable to set any wallpaper.

MacFett you Sir had the information that I wanted see. I have not looked at my TF101 in 3 months because of the slow os, but now wow. I am blown away with how much of a difference it made. THANK YOU.

In an hour or so of playing with it, I'd agree that KatKiss 31 really speeds up the old TF101. I've had a random reboot on it, not sure yet what caused it. I'd been playing with both Netflix and HBO Go, but that's about all I'd done with it so far.
