I have noticed a lot lately when I click on a site, mostly through my Pinterest app, I keep getting redirected to the Google Play store to install various apps. I notice it most when I am going to blog type sites. The site keeps loading and before it is finished. I will be redirected to Google Play store to download different apps. Is this the websites, Pinterest, or something wrong with my phone. I have tried different browsers, and it does the same witb all. It o getting really annoying.

The links I read so far mentioned that people thought it was a Chrome problem. The interesting thing is I switched to Dolphin thinking that will help, and it is still happening. I will try the fixes and see if it still helps.

Let us know how it goes - it does sound like a browser hijack, though it may not be Chrome-specific. :)

What happens if you use the browser to visit Pinterest rather than the app?
I just looked at Pinterest using Dolphin, and there was a page that said continue in browser. Just looked at the page and promptly got directed to Play.

It might be that Pinterest isn't registering your app right, and you are getting redirected to download it again. You might try deleting you Pinterest app, rebooting phone and then reinstalling Pinterest.

I haven't got a Pinterest account, I've banned it on the PC.

I have been working on this pretty much all day, and so far with no luck. I have finally found several other forums discussing it, and it does seem that it more the ads than anything. I couldn't find any hijackers on my phone. One of the solutions would be to disable Java on my phone. I guess that would prevent most ads from loading, so I can see how that would work, but who wants a browser without Java?

I pretty much go to most sites through my browser when I am using Pinterest because it loads faster, so I have tried both, and it still does the same thing.

I did clear all my data on all my browsers. I deleted and re-installed the ones that I could. I ran a few malware detection apps, and none of them found anything.

Some people said using the Firefox browser would help since it has a better ad blockers built in than Dolphin and Chrome. I will let you know how it works.
