Keep needing to reboot Moto E 2020 phone

Lurker
Our Moto E 2020 (less than a year old) goes into "emergency mode" on its own every couple of weeks - sometimes every few days. No calls or texts can come in, No calls or texts can go out. The only way to get the phone working again is to shut it off and turn it back on again. It is not in airplane mode. Do not disturb settings are turned off. This can't be normal. We can't rely on the phone. We find out when go to make a call or send a text.

The phone is on Verizon pre-paid. Is there anything that can be done to prevent this from happening.

Could be the SIM has gone bad, and needs replacing. A friend of mine had this happen, and his carrier replaced the SIM.

This reminds me of when my Galaxy S4 would say the SIM was replaced and phone had to restart at random but I never touched it. It'd just pop up and restart after tapping OK and it'd work for a number of hours or days, sometimes minutes before it happened again. Ended up being a faulty SIM tray.
