keeping an application running

Hello all,

This is sort of about task managers, and yet, not.

I have an application I need to stay open (meebo) but Androids's task manager closes it sometimes. I have tried using task managers to keep enough memory free that Android won't kill Meebo, but it usually gets killed eventually anyway.

Does anyone have an idea on how to keep it open? I am running 2.2.

Thanks!

I think that's the mechanism of Android OS. It will kill process that suspended too long.

In my opinion, to avoid it's killed, one way is to keep it running background but not suspended, but not keep it enough memory.

Thank you for the reply, but Meebo doesn't suspend. It's a kind of instant messaging application that I use for my website. I can tell if it's running by a notification it shows, but every so often, it just... is gone.

Maybe there is some mechanism to automatically re-launch it if it dies?
