Keeping my Android tidy

Having an HTC Desire I am conscious of every wasted kb so I uninstall uwanted programs, clear cache daily using aCleaner. I have found though that I sometimes find traces of long-departed apps especially on my SD card. Is there anything more I can do to keep my phone as "tidy" as possible?

I like the android assistant app. I believe there is one for an unrooted phone (Mine is rooted with a rom). It's got a quicker option to get into each application to clear the cache. It's also go CPU info, Memory info, and Battery info. It has a process manager that shows the percentage used for the RTCPU and MEM. It also has a start up manager, batch uninstall, ringer, volume control, battery use, save battery settings, and file manager. Another thing you can do is to check your SD card after you uninstall, just in case you'd saved anything from it. Then you can manually delete it.
