Keyboard Issues

I am presently unable to use my phone as the keyboard is not working at all. Please advise how I can correct this problem on my Samsung Nexus phone? I have tried to reset the phone and cannot do that either. The message that keeps popping up is Keyboard not working and it has report to left button or ok on right button. Thank you.
