keybored landscpe not working

i have a sony ericsson xperia x10 i just bouthg and had for 2 weeks when i type and i turn it around the keybored does not change why has this happend?

Hi, welcome to Android Forums, I'm rabidhunter and I'm here to help. My coworker had this problem and it stumped me for some time. Then she realized that the Auto Rotate menu was off. You can turn the auto-rotation back on by dragging the notification menu down from the top.

It should look something like this (though the menu looks different from device to device, it should look similar)

The sideways phone with arrows in a circle toggle the auto rotation.
