Kies: anyone using and what for?

The sync app Kies I had pretty much shutdown, uninstalleld, but now i see others' attempting again to utilize this in some fashion..

There is now so much app redundancy, sync, backups etc, and alot of these suck the power right out of our devices...

Can you give me overview of what you are doing with Kies please..
