Kies Error during update

Hey,

I bought myself a Galaxy S i9000 last night. I installed the latest version of Kies 2.0 on the PC. after I connected my phone to the PC, it asked me for an update to JV5 version of gingerbread and when I hit update, the update got downloaded but wouldn't get installed as kies shuts down giving this error message.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling kies, disabling firewall and antivirus but no luck. I am unable to update my phone. Please help me out.

Have you previously installed any software from any other mobile phone manufacturer? I know for a fact that some Sony Ericisson software replaces the low-level USB drivers on windows which stops many other USB devices connecting.

No. I have not installed any mobile softwares on my PC. However, for the internet connection, I don't use a LAN or a router connection. Instead I use a data card (thumb drive) internet connection (wireless). is that creating a problem.

Please help me out.

I assume your 3G dongle will need driver software which also may be interfering with your phone. Many modern USB devices do not work well together I have found.
