Having continuous problems getting my Samsung GT15800 to connect to my PC using Kies
My PC is running Windows XP home edition (I haven't got a scooby about the more technical stuff ??? i think it's 32 bit Home edition)
I've tried everything - uninstalling and reinstalling - it will connect just the once but everytime after i just get the continuous stupid spinning wheel and it just sticks on 'connecting'
I've tried unmounting the External SD card with no success, resetting the phone back to Factory settings - no joy
Re-installed the USB driver with no luck
It's driving me up the wall and i wanna smash the damn thing !!
Please help
Thanks in advance

Hiya,

I'm trying to connect my Samsung Galaxy SII via Kies Air to my Toshiba netbook (Win7 operating system). So far I've tried browsers IE and Kamelon. Kies Air just won't connect. The phone can see my pc. The IP address is valid. But getting a connection on my netbook just won't work.

Any help would be much appreciated! I'm about to give up on Kies Air!

Cheers!

I have a old lap top with windows XP on it and my phone connects to Kies no problem.
I do not start Kies, just connect my phone with the USB lead and Kies then starts up and the phone is connected. Never altered any phone settings from when I bought it.

try removing your sd card, its the only way i can connect sometimes, funny for a program thats supposed to allow you to move data easily....

Tried that, doesn't work. And even if it did it would utterly pointless and defeats the whole point of trying to put stuff onto the card anyways. Stupid program

since my wifi has stopped working for no apparent reason, i'm thinking of going back to the shop and trying to exchange for another brand phone, i used to like samsung, beginning to get on my nerves with all these niggling problems... kies is the biggest joke of all....

I use a Samsung Galaxy Apollo GTI5801. My laptops run on Windows 7. Kies was initially not able to detect my phone. The solution that worked for me was factory reset. I backed up all my contacts(since i only needed those) onto my memory card. Unmounted my memory card and then reset my phone to the factory settings. After this, i connected my phone to Samsung Kies and Voila!, it worked like a charm. The trick here is to use the protocol while disconnecting the phone.
-> If your memory card is mounted, first unmount the card from the computer.
-> Right click on your phone's menu in the Kies window(to your left) and click on disconnect.
-> After this, Press the Home button on your phone. And then, disconnect the cable.
