Kindle app and perodicals

I've been enjoying the kindle app on my Huawei S7 tablet but it doesn't seem to save the last page I was on in the periodicals I read if the program is terminated (specifically Asimov's Science Fiction and The Economist- US Edition but those are the only two I've tried). It is very frustrating as I have to hunt for the spot I left off everytime I pick it up.

Anyone else experience this?

I have heard that kindle has a problem with android. kindle know about the problems and are working on a update.

Sorry if I was cryptic. I have the Kindle app on my Android OS driven Motorola Droid. Droid 1 refers to the fact that it is the original Droid.

Mine opens at the last point I close it?
If you clear data it will reset, obviously.
