Kindle Fire MP4's

Lurker
So, I bought a Kindle Fire the other day and wanted to put a couple DVD's on it. I have a DVD converter and have tried various different formats including MP4. I have been plugging the fire into my PC and copying the files over to the video file on the fire. When I disconnect my fire from my PC ad try to find the movies on the kindle, they are not there. What am I doing wrong? I have also tried just copying the movies to the main kindle drive. I have tried different converters including catalyst 4 but still nothing. Thanks for any help.

Just an update. I found out that when putting MP4's on my kindle they show up in the Gallery App and not in the Videos section on the Kindle Fire.

I put some mp4's onto my kindle fire and they do not play properly. The screen is split in half with a staticy line in the middle (sort of like what you would see on old TV's when the picture would scroll up and you see a double-picture with a line in the middle). But the videos play fine on my computer. These videos were in HD format and I converted them to mp4 with Sony Vegas studio software. any suggestions?

I guess it should be that videos' codec is not support by kindle, you know that mp4 is just a video container, and it can contain many different codec,so if you want to paly them on your kindle,I think you should convert them to other mp4 videos with codec supported by kindle.
