Help Kindle reader app won't load anything

I've been having issues with the kindle app on my android smartphone (model SCH-I435, android version 4.4.2) ever since I first installed it; it's currently frozen on the last book I tried to read, the screen is white with a motionless buffering symbol in the center. I can pull up the location-select UI, but I can't return to the main menu anymore, though leaving and then reselecting the book didn't help anything back when I could still do that. Closing/re-opening the app and reinstalling the app don't help either. Is this a compatibility issue?

Did you check the requirements on the Kindle app? What version is it?

Some apps say they are compatible with 4.0 and up, but not all of those 4.0 are equal. My tablet wouldn't run At Bat - video too slow.

We have a Kindle in the family. Amazon requested an update to all about a year ago.
They could have also updated the Kindle app and your phone has a problem with it.
I know Kindle will let you know if you haven't updated the reader on the PC.
I just use it to get books and convert them to another format.

You might want to get your all your phone's specs and post them. If the Kindle app doesn't work, the specs on your phone will help.
