Bummer. I was in mid-call when the call got dropped and the dialer screen froze. Totally non-responsive screen. Would not go home or back. The only solution was to force a manual reset using the side buttons. That unfortunately when into a boot loop, which continued for about a half dozen times until I could pick the right spot to do another manual reboot.

Finally got it back to something that resembles normal, but now the Network indicator in the notification bar says H+ rather than the usual 4G or 3G (I am roaming but never got H+ before). Speed dials are now interminably slow, sending each tone that lasts a second as opposed to the usual burst of tones that last a half second in the aggregate.

I've also noticed (before and after the crash) that many apps (Phandroid is one) are having trouble connecting to their server as if they cannot decide between using wifi or the mobile network. If I turn off wifi or the mobile net, the app can connect just fine. FDR in the future. :(

I'm not all that convinced that this particular version of Kit Kat was ready for prime time. :smokingsomb:

Doing it before the upgrade is pretty much a waste. Doing it after any major upgrade (like Jelly Bean to Kit Kat) is always recommended.

I know. I shoulda done it immediately after the upgrade but I'm out of the US now, so any FDR would end up with a dead phone until I can get back on the home network. CSR confirmed.

You could try running in Safe Mode (disabling all apps you added without uninstalling them). It MIGHT help. You MIGHT luck out until you return.

Well I've been resisting as the phone was working fine but I did a FDR. Seems it is even faster now than before.
