Kodi stops working out of nowhere and then works again?

Lurker
Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone might know why Kodi on my android box will be working fine and then out of nowhere stop working. It will say "url could not be found" or something similar. It did this last night and I didn't feel like dealing with it so I unplugged it thinking that might help. I plugged it back in this morning and it still wasn't working and tried figuring it out for about an hour without actually doing or changing anything and then all of a sudden it started working again. Does anyone know what could have happened or if there's something I need to do to fix it?

Thanks in advance :)

If you are experiencing a "URL not found." message then it's the URL that's the problem, NOT KODI.

The KODI app is trying to access a link on the internet that is either not working anymore or has been blocked by your ISP. This is a very common occurrence and not a reflection on the KODI app.

Having said that - KODI is one of the more fragile apps out there.
If you don't close it down correctly, have a power outage or some dubious add-ons are installed, then weird things can happen.

Also - did you install KODI onto your Android TV box yourself or did it come with the purchase?
The pre-installed versions are frequently old and buggy.

I've just been using the version that came with the box. I've had it for about a month with no issues until the last couple of days. I went into my home settings into the app section and went to the kodi app and cleared the cache and force stopped it and went back in and the links that were not working worked fine for a few episodes and then it started doing it again. I should also note that when this happens netflix, youtube, etc also do not work. I've been reading online but I'm not sure what the problem is.

Any chance you are using wifi and dropping the wifi signal?

If multiple apps are unable to access the internet, the internet connection would be the first thing I would check.

Try running the box with the lan cable connected and see if you have the same issue.
