korean language support

I've searched but I haven't found any conclusive answers.

If I buy an android phone on AT&T, could I text in korean to both other android phones and iphones?

Thank you, I'm sorry if I missed something in the search. I typed in 'korean' into the search box but nothing helpful came up.

Could someone please help me? This is a major factor into my decision as whether to buy an android phone.

It looks like there are options for korean input:
korean keyboard

However AT&T's SMS might not support unicode for korean characters. I tried texting Chinese characters from T-Mobile to AT&T and it wouldn't go through, I'd don't know which network was at fault.

I tried sending a text in Hangul to my sister, but no characters went through. But see if anyone who uses it chimes in.

ahhh. thank you anyway. do you know why people can text in korean using the iphone but not an android phone?

It may because my sister doesn't have Korean language support on her phone. IPhone has Korean language support natively. If both the sending and receiving phones have Korean language, it may work.

From what I've read Sprint does not support unicode. It may work with a Captivate with the proper Korean language support.

sorry Cobravision I have At&T, and I am planning on getting a galaxy s.

Does AT&T support unicode? Is unicode important?

You need unicode support to transmit the Korean characters. I am assuming AT&T has it since the iPhone can do this.

We would need an Android user with Korean Keyboard and fonts installed to test. If not to another Captivate, then to an iPhone. Any takers?
