Help Lag

So I got this powerhouse mainly for the tethering and a massive screen, it'll make my work-life nicer as I work a lot of nights.
Anyhoo, does anyone else experience lag when switching from any app or from the internet, to the home screen? I am getting leg of around 6-7 seconds.
Now that may sound petty but this is a quad-core monster, I don't want or expect this.

I wonder if 3 (UK provider, Hutchison_3G in US) have adding stuff that is interfering with it. Well, they have added stuff, the internet has their branded bookmarks. My own bookmarks are balled up, I use two main forums and the bookmarks I made do to random sites instead. Is there anyway to fix this or purge 3s crap?

Ah, seems I found a cure.
For anyone else with this issue here is what you need to do:
Settings: developer options: don't keep activities (uncheck box)

This fixes the lag totally. Unusual thing though, what on earth is this 'don't keep activities' thing useful for?? Most odd.

The bookmarks thing is still an issue though, except when using the ones on the extra homescreen (whatever it's called), issue only arises when IN the internet itself. Curious..

For the bookmarks, you could try a different browser? Boat Browser or Chrome maybe?

I think that is the multi tasking, so if you tick that it will close the app everytime you come out of it meaning it will load the app from scratch when opening an app again.

What would be the disadvantages of this? Would it affect battery usage?

That's what the menu title seems to suggest, however when I hit the multitask button I do have all sorts of apps to kill. So I don't know wth I've actually disabled, but it's worked.
