My Google WiFi app alerted me that my android was using over 1000gb of data in the last month. In the wifi data usage menu I saw increased data usage beginning around the same time of my last software update. It looks like Android os is the culprit. Something called beaming service? I've attached screenshots so you can see what I'm seeing .
