Latest Google Maps Update

OK, so AppBrain sync tells me there's an update for Google Maps available. When I go into the market there are a lot of comments about the update breaking the app, but no real details. Anyone have experience with the latest update? I'm putting off updating till I know more.

Perhaps appbrain sync is broken? I can see 4.1.1 on the marketplace, which has been out for a while now. I have it, and it added *Navigation, and didn't break anything. *Actually, it seems there's some dispute about whether this version added Navigation, or if it was enabled on a server at around the same time it was released.

It did not get along with my Inc on 2.1

I had a freeze (battery pull necessary) and then a couple of "random" resets and rolled it back.
