Latest Pokemon Go update hints at an upcoming Buddy system for farming candies - Reviews

There have been some strings found in the code of the latest Pokemon Go update.

If true, it seems Niantic could be prepping a Buddy type system that would allow a follower or a pet to hunt for candies for you.
