Help Latest Update Issues and a question

My Razr Maxx HD keeps asking me to update to 9.18.79

1. There are so many posts about the rebooting issues and others. Is there a patch AFTER that? Is that a rare issue?

2. Is there a way to stop the phone from asking 3 times a day?

Mine, a Verizon Maxx HD, is on 9.20.1.xt926.verizon.es.US, and do not seem to have any issues I am aware of.

Same here, 9.20.1.xt926.verizon.es.US. I just replaced at almost the end of 1 year warranty due to apparently common low volume issues as well as general slow weirdness.

If you find that your phone sometimes gets really looooow volume and that it cannot be adjusted then SWAP IT OUT!...while you can...!

Taking this update will lock your bootloader and will not be able to install any custom roms. There is no way to unlock the bootloader after taking this update. Your phone is more valuable without this update. DO NOT LET IT UPDATE!!. I just bought a Maxx HD this week and found out about this update the hard way. I would trade phone with you if there were an easy way to do this.

If you first unlock the boot loader BEFORE taking the update, then you'll be safe. I've already fastbooted to the latest version and my bootloader was still unlocked.

But, if you update first before unlocking the boot loader, then you're hosed for life and you'll never get to unlock the boot loader. Ever.

You'll still be able to root it, but you'll be stuck using safestrap roms limited to the 4.1.2 kernel.
