Latitude Inaccuracy - Update Feature?

We all know Latitude has had some issues with accuracy, but I'm not entirely sure Latitude is to blame since Latitude utilizes both cell towers and wifi to figure out your location. Well, some wifi points (and even cell towers in some cases) are clearly not up to date in the database.

I was poking around in Latitude and I noticed an update feature within it. My girlfriend's wifi was telling me I was in New York. The second I found this option, I went to update. But on a hunch I backed out to make sure Latitude would even find me in New York again (I had turned off auto update so I wanted to fire it up again to make sure I could replicate the previous issue). To my surprise, I wasn't able to.

So I ended up finding that I was in the proper location within Pennsylvania. Imagine that? Nonetheless, I'm curious if somebody out there who is seeing they are in an improper location (keynote - keep GPS off, otherwise it'll pinpoint you accurately) and fire this up and see.

To get to it:

Turn off GPS so you are not being pinpointed.
Open Latitude.
Click on Map.
Find yourself on the map and zoom in.
You'll notice a blue triangle as well as your icon identifying your user.
If you click on your icon, you could bring up your profile.
Instead, click on the blue triangle just below your icon.
You'll see a bubble saying My Location - Accurate to x-amount of meters. Tap to improve accuracy.
At this point, tap the bubble to improve accuracy.
There is an option listed there to report your improper location.

Now like I said, my location magically corrected itself at my girlfriend's wifi so I wasn't able to try it out. I haven't seen any other improper locations so far besides her router, so I'm not sure where else to try this.

Nonetheless, I wanted to post here so if users were discouraged with Latitude due to certain wifi/cell tower points being incorrect, that perhaps this could help. I'm not sure how quick/accurately it works but I wanted to throw it on the table and see if we could generate some feedback.

Good luck.
