Launcher Pro forgets it the default launcher

I have neither HTC Sense, nor Qik, nor ToddlerLock, and this problem started happening with me a few days ago. Of course, I'm always on the Market, looking for apps to install... I don't install just anything, but I do install a couple a week. Nothing that should be messing with the home button though.

Clear defaults in Launcher Pro and your Home Launcher that you have pre-installed and it should go away.

Thanks, but no, it didn't help.

I uninstalled a security program, "EStrong Security" something or other. Their file manager suggested I install that and the task killer. I'd installed the task killer when I installed the file manager, but it asked me again so I installed the security manager. And it's a good app, but uninstalling it restored LauncherPro.

I repeat, I had cleared the default in Home and LauncherPro in Settings, and the default in Home Switcher, then set LP as the default in Home Switcher... and it still kept asking me which one I wanted EVERY TIME.

I'm not 100% convinced the EStrong app caused the problem, but removing it has caused the problem to not happen for a few days now.

Good to hear that.

This is happening to me as well I thot it was Adw.launcher so I switched to lp but am still having the same problem..

This just started happening t me yesterday, are there certain apps that cause a conflict? LauncherPro was just updated, could that be why?

Uninstalling "Estrongs" programs and Astro just to save time and it solved this problem for me! Finally... Couldn't find threads for the longest time about this issue but finally found this...

Reinstalled "Estrongs" suite of programs and it caused the same problem again...

Found that "EStrongs Security Manager" seems to be the culprit...

Thank you for the information.
It's a software conflict, we've fixed the issue in the new release.

HI All ,

PLease help me out . I installed Launcher Pro.
Then by mistake made my LG Home screen as default.
NOw I see no option to swich to Launcher Pro Home screen. I have cleared all cache but to no avail .

Pressing the home button for long does not ask my choice but takes me to a list of most recently used application. :(

I just delete the default launcher...

Deleting the launchers doesn't seem to help when using Widget Locker

Bear with me, I'm a new iOS convert to android.

For me, it seems that denying Widget Locker root access through Superuser solved the problem.

Here is what's working for me on rooted Samsung Galaxy S II, AT&T:

I did delete TWLauncher using Titanium Backup but I don't think its necessary
I deleted all other launchers as well
Went into Superuser and deleted the entry for Widget Locker
Went into Widget Locker and turned off Home Helper and Root Helper
Set LauncherPro as default launcher
Downloaded Default App Manager and set system defaults. This isn't necessary but beats going through all the settings to assign defaults

The only issue I see is that, if you are an avid Widget Locker user, as am I, and using a phone like SGSII, the home button will bypass the unlock swipe/button/action. Small price to pay I think.

So far...so good. I know this is an old thread but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of answers about it anywhere just LauncherPro supporters blaming Qik or whatever. I'll update this if I have anymore trouble but it seems to work.

As an aside, the following did not solve the problem:

Clearing defaults and reassigning them
Rebooting
Deleting launchers
Moving launchers
Clearing caches
Deleting Qik
Unrooting
Rerooting
Deleting themes/skins
Homesmack
Home Switcher
Calling home
LauncherPro's dev
Wikipedia, Yahoo Answers, or <gasp> Googling it
Throwing the device at a pile of soft pillows (and missing)
Praying for forgiveness

I am going to try seeing if the Estrongs "Suite" is installed and causing a problem, but I definitely know this isn't a launcher problem...I thought it was a HTC Sense issue, but I have now seen (I think) a couple of posts from a Samsung device.
I have the Thunderbolt and since the 2.3.4 update, I have had the same problem. I have read several posts, but no real solution. The Homesmack didn't work. Really sounds like an HTC issue, but I am still trying to read more posts.
