LauncherPro Beta: Home replacement done right!

I'm a Sense user... have been since I got my Eris in Nov. of 09. I've been trying out multiple home replacement options for a few months now, and while most that I've played with do have their own highs and lows, respectively... LauncherPro Beta offers exactly what I want. The launcher bar at the bottom of the screen can be customized to be transparent, look like glass or even assume 2 different FROYO looks, and provides the 4 things I use most (Phone, Text, People, Browser)always at the ready, without taking up any space on my home screens layout, so I can keep as many of the optional screens (3 to 7) organized as I see fit. The app drawer allows custom number of rows/columns and provides a "Fly-in/out effect" that is rather appealing and smooth. There is even and option to allow 5 icon rows on the home screens. This app is just as fast as the Sense UI on my Eris 2.1 and as customizable as I need it to be. I have hidden my notifcation bar, which helps shift the screen up a bit, hidden the names of my app icons, to streamline the look and feel of my home screens. It may not be expansive enough in the options that it offers for some users and doesn't compare to HEX or Sweeter, but without getting too complex, it's just right for me... and I'm sure there are others out there just like me in that respect. Definitely worth a good, long layout customization session, or "nerding-out" for an hour, to see if LauncherPro Beta is right for you!

I too have tried every home replacement I could find and launcher pro is by far, IMHO, the best. Been using it for almost a month now with 5 screens fairly full and it still runs fast and smooth. As for the dock I personally went with phone, handicent and the previous / next screen options. Ive heard that called nexus one style. Anyway I would highly recommend launcher pro as a home replacement. Unlike sweeter home witch is more of a complete overhaul than a simple replacement.

I've tried LauncherPro on my Eris as well and love the features, except I can't figure out how to make it the default launcher, i.e. so that when I press the home button it launches LauncherPro instead of Sense home screen. I'm probably missing something really simple but any help would be appreciated.
