Amendments to rule 41 of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure are scheduled to go into effect on December 1st, and some lawmakers are trying to delay it. These amendments would allow the US government to remotely search, copy, and seize information from digital devices like smartphones and computers (with a warrant).
