Help LED notification light colors all wrong

SyrupBottle

On my Droid X, they worked fine. Facebook's was blue, texts were green, MSN Mercury was the shade of green I had it set to.

On my S3, however, Facebook's is red, texts are blue, the same shade of green from the Droid is shows up purple in the notification light instead. The only thing that is correct is when the battery is low, it'll be red.

I downloaded an LED test app just now and tested all of the default colors. I'll list the colors they are supposed to be and what they actually show up as.

Blue: Red
Green: Purple
Purple: Yellow
Red: Yellow
Turquoise: Purple
Yellow: Turquoise

It's the blue 32GB model from Verizon.

Yes, that's how it is on all the US variants. It's either just flat out a bug or Samsung decided that non standard mappings was a good way to go. The developer of light flow just got a US phone and is working on fixing his app and should have a solution for rooted users this week.

Hopefully the former, haha. Glad to hear someone else is working on a fix, though. Hopefully an option for non-rooted users will be found, too.

Thanks for the solid answer. I'm glad to know it's not just me.

I have an update on this. A friend of mine got his S3 yesterday through T-Mobile and his LED notifications work the way they are supposed to. Blue for Facebook, green for texts, and while it's charging, the color of the LED will even match the battery progress.

It seems like it's something the carriers are doing, then.
