Help LED Notification Light - Third Party Email

I got a replacement G2 yesterday in hopes to fix a screen issue I had. I'm not sure if I ever even noticed this on my original G2, but with this one the notification light does not flash/light up with my Gmail or Outlook email apps. The light seems to work fine for emails within the G2 email app; also my contacts, and SMS.

Am I missing something or is this the case on all G2's? It may be time to switch on my Lightflow app.

I use Gmail and it glows green for me. You have all these checked? Also make sure within your email account settings you have notifications checked.

That was the first thing I checked. I could've sworn that my original G2 did this and worked. I said screw it and went ahead and configured my Light Flow app to the "T". It's probably another software bug, but I don't feel like resetting the phone. I'm sick and tired of resetting and having to redo all of my app settings. I've done this countless times over the last 3 weeks.


Notice that in that notification settings that there is only "Missed LG Emails"....there's no one for just "Missed Emails".

I also have this under the Gmail settings. It's also on Facebook. Glows blue on Facebook.

I am not sure what our experiences will be. Here in Thailand the phones are sold unlocked and there aren't any contracts so the phone comes as it came from LG. No preinstalled junk. That may be an issue for some people.
 
Yeah, I checked all those too because on my first phone I wasn't getting the Gmail notification icons on the notification bar. I checked those settings and it didn't fix that old problem. I had to reset the phone to fix it. But yeah, I checked those and everything else. Again, notice that in the Gmail settings there...that is really only applying to Notifications in general. I can toggle that setting ON/OFF and it affects the notification icon, but not the notification light.

Light Flow is working/managing everything fine/correctly. I think it's the software.
 
Even though Lightflow was working fine, I decided to reinstall the OS tonight just to see (and because I was still seeing my zooming problem that was on my first G2).

After reinstalling the OS, the default notification light is working correctly with Gmail and Outlook.com. So I was right, in that the software does have some issues/glitches.
