Left for a bit now I'm back

Hi all, just wanted to give you a little story. I have used android devices since they have been out. I have spent thousands on my phone sickness(that's what my wife calls it), anyway, I have had most flagship devices for many carriers. I came to the optimus g from galaxy s3 and what an extreme difference. I am not knocking the galaxy, except poor reception IMO , never had an issue with it. I just looked into the lg and bought it, like night and day between the two phones. This phone is amazing. So come Christmas time the wife thinks she might like an iPhone , since she has an iPad she felt it was easier to use than her android device, so I got her the iPhone 5 . She loved and still loves it. The only apple product I ever used is the iPad , prior to her iPhone. So a week or so goes by and I became more curious about iOS since I started tinkering with her iPhone more and more. So I sell my optimus g on eBay, and purchase myself an iPhone 5. Use the phone for a few weeks and just could not stand it. You know the saying " nice place to visit but wouldn't want to live there" that was my feeling. But to avoid an argument because of my "phone sickness" I dealt with it. Until this past Friday , I put iphone on Craigslist looking to trade for an optimus g for iPhone. Someone responded, we met up yesterday and made the trade. Oh my , what a relief to be back, this phone is by far the best android device I have ever owned, and I am sorry for leaving behind for an inferior operating system. Just wanted to share that with you guys.

I think phones are similar to most areas of technology, and a significant factor in choosing devices is what you "started" with... I don't have issues with iOS, but I have never owned an iPhone or iPad, so I probably never will... I have been tempted at times, but then realize that Android does everything I need for far less money.

My first exposure to real smart phones was Android, so it is probably where I will stay unless the platform disappears. It was a little hard to come from Palm to Android, just because it was different, but when it became obvious that Palm was fading away, and destined to not keep up, there were no real options.

Back in the old days of DOS (Pre-Windows) there were regularly arguments on BBS systems (pre-Internet) concerning which was the best software for various uses, like word processors, and if you dug a little, people overwhelmingly preferred the software that they had spent the most time with... very rare was an occurrence of "I have used xxx for years, but I tried yyy and I am converted" (or anything of the sort). In the early days of Windows, the discussions concerning MS Word and Word Perfect were heated.

Well, all of that rambling, and I don't want to forget my reason for starting this message... Welcome home!
