Legal Implications of Samsung’s Huge Recall of Galaxy Note 7 Phones

From what I've read the fault only occurs when the device is connected to a charger. So having it explode on you while it's in your pocket is not going to occur. Perhaps in your car while connected to a charger. I could see that causing havoc at the wrong time in the wrong place.

If your battery is bad it will show signs early. Very short battery life, runs hot and would likely have blown after just a few charges. Likely no ticking boom.

Doubt anything serious is going to happen, but since I use a wide variety of chargers around the house and especially since usb type c hasn't really gotten a good head start i just returned my phone.
