Less lag with SD Card?

Hey guys I have a question ive heard that Android devices that the apps and widgets are installed on the internal memory beside on a SD Card (If you have a SD card)

And what im wondering is?, lets say if you have a 16GB SD Card and you install all your apps and widgets on it wouldnt that like free up your internal memory and make the device run faster or more smoothly?
 
Yes its possible. To do it, you would have to root your phone and then install a ROM that has Apps2SD on included. I believe the Apps2SD is also available seperate from a ROM. Regardless, you would have to root your phone to get it.

What kind of phone do you have?
 
ooooh none at the moment Droid hopefully on my B-Day Jan 7th i just wanted to know bc my friends G1 tends to lag a little bit but i wanted to know since he doesnt have a SD
